Next-gen Alicon rock breakers launched at Civenex
Onetrak has launched the Alicon series of hydraulic rock breakers, made by Daemo of Korea, to the Australian market at the Civenex infrastructure expo at Sydney Dragway in Eastern Creek.
The Dandenong, Victoria, based heavy equipment distributor chose the Alicon rock breakers after a worldwide search for a hydraulic hammer to suit its current expansion strategy.
"As an equipment dealer mainly to construction and extractive industries, rock breakers are a necessary adjunct to our excavator sales," Onetrak Business Development Manager Steve Berwick says. "The Australian market demands reliability and performance from attachments such as rock breakers and we feel confident the Alicon breakers will meet these expectations.",
Berwick says Daemo has a longstanding history in the manufacturing and supply of excavator attachments, and are one of a few who manufacture the rock breakers from scratch
"They test each and every rock breaker before putting it in the marketplace which provided us with further confidence in the product and its manufacturing process," Berwick says.
Hydraulic hammers in the Alicon range are suitable for excavators from one tonne up to 100 tonnes, and are used in a wide range of applications, including underwater work. Features include the Anti Blank Firing (ABF) automatic control system — which comes as standard on the B50 model and above — and an energy regeneration system.
The latter is a valve which promotes energy circulation by harnessing flow energy in the retraction stage after the piston has hit the chisel. Berwick says the valve is capable of harnessing up to 15 percent of energy flow which it then uses on the following outflow impact, increasing not only energy efficiency but also maximising impact power. It’s available in the bigger breakers (B600-B800).
In addition, a TPC (Total Power Control) system in the Alicon breakers gives control of the impact power and BPM via a two-stroke selector (long stroke for primary breaking, short stroke for secondary breaking). A two-stroke remote control is available for the B230 model and above.
