Komatsu customers will now be able to monitor their machines’ performance and health on the go through Komatsu’s new KOMTRAX smartphone app.
The app is currently available for Apple iOS phone users and is free to download from Komatsu’s website.
“Our new KOMTRAX app gives Komatsu customers the ability to monitor critical machine operating parameters, along with usage,, performance and location, as well as overall fleet management,” says Komatsu Australia’s Head of Fleet Management and ICT Todd Connolly.
“By providing customers with valuable information regarding their Komatsu machines, it helps get a quick overview of what machines in their fleet have been up to – all via their iPhone.”
The new app allows users to monitor all KOMTRAX -equipped machines’:
- Location – including driving directions based on the phone’s location.
- Hours of use
- Idle time (dependent on machine type/model)
- Fuel consumption (dependent on machine type/model)
- Cautions triggered as they occur
- Loss of communication
“All these features can be customised so users can view set time periods, from one day up to a month,” Conolly adds.
“In addition, a fleet can be filtered by model, customer management number or serial number.”
Connolly says the KOMTRAX remote monitoring system has become an important contributor in driving down owning and operating costs of Komatsu equipment, and the development of the app will make lives even easier for Komatsu’s customers.
“By combining KOMTRAX with the latest smartphone technology, customers are now able to monitor, check and manage their Komatsu equipment at any time of the day or night, from anywhere in the world.”
