Position Partners and Bomag distributor Tutt Bryant are seeking to speed up the adoption of GPS machine guidance systems on Australia’s landfills through an agreement that will see all new Bomag compactors fitted with the necessary mounts and wiring.
The machines can also be factory-fitted with a fully-fledged Carlson LandfillGrade GPS Landfill Management System before delivery to the customer
“Machine guidance offers significant benefits for the landfill industry,” Tutt Bryant National Sales Manager Peter Gray says. “Its ability to reduce fuel usage, improve air space utilisation and assist with leachate management will make it a must-have technology in the near future.”
Position Partners says LandfillGrade uses a combination of high precision GPS positioning and a control box mounted within the machine to deliver real-time information on material placement and compaction levels.
“With remote monitoring of machines from the office and sophisticated reporting capabilities, Carlson machine guidance solutions remove the guesswork out of landfill compaction and grading,” it says, adding that the systems come with a three-year warranty.
Carlson’s Australian distributor, Position Partners, will install the machine guidance systems and provide training, service and support to Tutt Bryant’s Bomag customers. The company offers hire options and can retrofit the systems to most machines.
