Three new models join Gehl R Series skid-steer range

The Gehl R Series of radial-lift skid-steer loaders has had another boost with the Oceania availability of three new models – the 862kg operating capacity R190, the 988kg R220 and the 1,179kg R260.

Manitou Australia says the new models, which join the R135, R150 and R165 announced last October, offer features such as improved all-around visibility, pressurized cabs, Tier IV engines and a high-powered hydraulic system.

When equipped with optional counterweights, the rated operating capacities of the three new models increase to 957kg on the R190, 1075kg on the R220 and 1,261kg on the R260. Lift heights are 3061mm on the R190 and 3,124mm on the other two models.

Able to take on demanding jobs, the new Gehl R Series loaders have maximum torque ratings of 235Nm on the R190 and 279.3Nm on the R220 and R260.

The Tier IV/Stage 3B emissions compliance comes courtesy of Yanmar engines with diesel particulate filters (DPFs).

Manitou is excited about the cabins on the new Gehl skid-steers, calling them “state-of-the-art” compartments that “leave little to be desired”.

“A new side-folding restraint bar and armrests with multiple adjustments enhance operator comfort and safety,” the company writes. “Joystick and hand/foot control towers are fully adjustable and the mechanical or air-ride suspension seat options deliver outstanding comfort.

“A cab-forward design and lowered rear towers deliver unmatched visibility to the bucket edge and rear of the machine. The optional pressurised sealed cab enclosure, with sound reduction material and a rear-mounted air filter, provides a cleaner, quieter, climate-controlled working environment.”

Three control options are available: T-bar, joystick, and hand/foot. All configurations feature joystick-mounted auxiliary hydraulic controls.

A customisable digital display provides real-time information on coolant, fuel, battery and engine regeneration, among others.

Service accessibility has been improved, with a hydraulic components exposed by a gas-strut-assisted back-tilting level II ROPS/FOPS structure. The rear door and engine hood are extra-wide, and all high-rotation pins have grease points for ease of maintenance and quiet operation.

In addition, pressure-relieving hydraulic couplers make attachment changes simple and safe.
