Sage One, a cloud-based accounting application wholly customised for small Australian businesses, has been launched by Sage Australia.

Sage says the offering is differentiated by "low price, superior service and a proven heritage of accounting knowledge" and offers an all-in-one service including live telephone and email support plus the ability to access the service from desktop computers, tablets and smartphones.

Tailored for the local market in the areas of tax compliance and awards interpretations around payroll, Sage One is available at an introductory price of $15 per month. This, the company says, has the potential to save small businesses an estimated $550-$800 per year compared to current solutions available in the market.

"With the launch of Sage One in Australia, it is now a three horse race," Sage Australia MD Alan Osri says. "Sage One manages all of the necessary and daunting financial components of running a business in a timely, accurate and cost efficient manner."

The online service uses similar security technology to online banking systems, Osri adds.

Among the application’s features are: invoicing and quoting on the go; bank integration, removing the need for importing, manual processing and bank reconciliations; customisable dashboards for performance visibility; online and telephone support included in the $15 monthly subscription; and Sky Payroll integration.

The Sage One Accountants Edition provides: customisable dashboards for real-time client performance evaluation; real-time client account collaboration; automated compliance tasks; and electronic bank feeds and on-the-go invoicing.

Sage Australia has created a new operating company for the launch of Sage One, appointing Lukas Taylor as general manager.
