Avant multipurpose loaders impress crowds

Avant’s range of articulated telescopic loaders stood out at last weekend’s Diesel, Dirt & Turf expo near Sydney, and not just for its bright green livery — almost every contractor and farmer at the show could see a use for one of these versatile machines.

With more than 100 attachments available — ranging from 4-in-1 buckets, trenchers and dozer blades to lawn mowers, brooms, manure collectors, bale forks and log grabs — the Finnish machines are suited to farming, earthmoving, property maintenance, landscaping, forestry and groundcare.

A new model on show at DDT was the Avant 750, a 1.9-tonne machine with a maximum lifting height of 3m and a lifting capacity of 2.1 tonnes. It’s powered by a Kubota V2403 diesel engine pumping out 49 horsepower (36kW).

Features of the range include front-mounted operator’s seats, a multi-connector for hydraulic attachments, a self-levelling telescopic boom which is mounted off-centre for improved visibility, and a load sensor that sounds an alarm if the rear wheels are about to lift off the ground.
