Cat brings out compact TH3510D telehandler
Cat has released the TH3510D telehandler, a compact materials handler with a 3.5 tonne capacity and a maximum lift height of 9.8m.
Standout features of the new machine are a three-section hydraulic boom with a low pivot pin mounting for improved all-round visibility, and a simple, efficient gear-pump hydraulic system which Caterpillar says will "deliver long term durability and reliable performance at low operating costs".
The TH3510D comes standard with a Tier 4/Stage IV Cat C3.4B diesel engine which pumps out 100hp (75kW). "Lesser or non-regulated countries" (which presumably includes Australia) will get a Tier 3/Stage IIIA engine.
Permanent four-wheel drive is provided via a Cat four-speed power-shift transmission, while a limited-slip differential in the front axle further aids traction in wet conditions.
"Oil-immersed dual axle disc brakes are used," Cat says, "and a parking brake works in conjunction with the front brakes. The braking system is designed to provide trouble-free performance in the harshest operating conditions."
An Integrated Tool carrier (IT) quick coupler that is compatible with the rest of the Cat telehandler range comes as standard on the TH3510D, and there’s also an optional hydraulically operated coupler available.
The cab is designed for simplicity and durability, Caterpillar says, with all hydraulic functions controlled by a single lever joystick with F-N-R, allowing simultaneous drive and boom functions.
"Switches are clustered by function, and a new instrument panel and dash allow at-a-glance monitoring of machine performance," Cat says.
"An optional advanced display monitor provides load charts as well as the feed from the rear view camera when activated, and can be used to set operator preferences and perform diagnostic checks."
Flat glass throughout simplifies window replacement, and the floor design allows quick cleaning with a hose.
Additional options for the TH3510D include reversing sensors and a load weighing system.
Serviceability has also been addressed, with the TH3510D featuring ground-level-access routine service points and a daily maintenance regime limited to fluid-level checks and a walk-around inspection.
