The two new excavators are both powered by a 270kW US Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV-configured diesel engine that features no diesel particulate filter, simplifying maintenance and cleaning. Case says the new D series models have been designed to deliver faster cycle times and greater fuel efficiency.

Case says this is delivered through the excavators’ new electronically-controlled hydraulic swing arm pump which works in concert with Case’s proprietary Intelligent Hydraulic System to automate engine power and hydraulic movement based on load, eliminating fuel and power waste.

The arm and boom on each of the new models has been made from reinforced steel to add power to the machine. Thicker steel has also been used to construct the undercarriage a new single-slope design aims to reduce dirt accumulation and cleaning time.

The operators cab on the D series features an adjustable heated air-suspension seat, joystick controls, Bluetooth radio and rearview camera. The cab is pressurised and ISO-mounted to ensure noise and vibration are kept to a minimum. A seven-inch widescreen monitor displays real-time machine information and performance parameters including fuel consumption and operating hours.

Case is also offering an optional lighting package on the D series models made up of 6 LED floodlights that case says are three times brighter than Halogen lights and offer illumination similar to that of sunlight, allowing work to be done around the clock.

Daily maintenance points are all located on ground-level for easy access and sample oil ports for engine and hydraulic oil simply the oil check process.
