Takeuchi says that while the TB2150 is a ‘midi’ size machine it has been designed to provide heavy-duty lifting power within compact dimensions.

The 16-tonne TB2150 is powered by an 85kW Deutz TCD 3.6 L4 configured to Tier 4 Final emissions requirements. The engine is turbocharged and uses a common rail fuel injection system.

The excavator has a maximum digging depth of 5,475mm and a maximum dump height of 6,220mm thanks to a 2,570mm swing arm. The operator has increased control of the arm, with a solid steel casting of the swivel mechanism enabling the arm to be moved while the cabin stays stationary. Takeuchi says this helps the operator focus on stick and bucket positioning.

The machine’s automated hydraulic system allows the operator to change flow and pressure settings to suit different attachments. Individual settings can then be stored in memory for quick access next time they’re needed. The excavator also has three sets of auxiliary lines, two of which have programmable flow and pressure settings.

The cab has been engineered for increased visibility and operator comfort. A seven-inch colour monitor displays critical operational and machine information, as well as the feed from the rear camera. The operator has an adjustable, heated air-suspension seat and the cabin also has automatic climate control and an AM/FM radio.

Daily maintenance points have been grouped together on ground level for easy access. To minimise downtime even further, the TB2150 can connect the Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) remote diagnostics system that can monitor machine health and identify problems before they arise.
