Yanmar’s new V4-7 wheel loader is now available in Australia through local distributor Tutt Bryant Equipment.
The V4-7 is a compact wheel loader weighing in at just over 3.5 tonnes and powered by a 30.5kW 4-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine configured to Tier 4 emissions standards.
With a total length of 4425mm and a width of 1690mm, the machine’s compact dimensions make it suitable for cramped urban construction sites.
The operator’s station has the option of an enclosed cabin or open canopy design, both with full ROPS/FOPS protection. The loaders are fitted with air-conditioning as standard, and Yanmar says the floor entry to the vehicle is 70 percent larger than its predecessors.
An LCD display inside the station displays machine information in real-time and has the option of linking with Yanmar’s SmartAssist remote-monitoring platform.
The loader features switchable travel speed settings that can be adjusted depending on the application. Fully automatic mode means the operator can put their foot on the accelerator and the machine will adjust speed automatically. Low Speed Mode allows the maximum speed to be fixed to avoid unintended accelerations in cramped areas.
Daily maintenance points have been grouped together at ground-level to ensure that servicing the machine is fast and easy. Yanmar has also added a wider and larger opening hood to improve maintenance access even further.
In the event of an emergency, the V4-7 has an emergency kill switch which can immediately cut power to the engine.
Parking brake alarms will sound if the operator has not engaged the parking brake, and the controls in the operator’s station can be locked to prevent unintended use. The hydraulic cylinders on the loader can also be locked into place to allow safe inspections.
