The JT10 is powered by an air-cooled Tier 4 49kW Deutz diesel engine and produces 44kN of pullback force.

Ditch Witch says the JT10 incorporates many of the features usually only seen on larger drills, such as heavy-duty anchor system and an integrated remote tracking display.

"The increased productivity and efficiency of our new JT10 unit combines the simplicity of a smaller drill with the power of larger HDDs," Ditch Witch senior product manager Seth Matthesen says.

"Today’s operators are facing more challenging environments, especially those found on compact, urban jobsites, and the JT10 helps combat those challenges."

An onboard fluid tank holds over 150 litres of fresh water, providing an alternative fluid for short bores. It also allows operators to effectively drill in tight spaces where an additional fluid mixer wouldn’t fit.

The JT10 can also hold just over 98m of drill pipe, increasing productivity and allowing operators to finish virtually any utility installation job without stopping for additional pipe.

The JT10’s operator station has been equipped with an ergonomic traversing seat that positions the operator near the centre of pipe rack for easy pipe handling. The JT10 is equipped with a single joystick for simplified operation, freeing the operator’s other hand.

Ditch Witch says maximising the machine’s uptime was crucial to its design. The JT10’s rack-and-pinion thrust drive has a welded-on double rack, greatly reducing operator maintenance.

The machine has no grease nipples and all maintenance points have been grouped together for easy access, helping to keep the drill running.
