The ST37X stand-on trencher is geared toward construction and landscaping jobs such as installing drainage pipe and creating footings.

“The ST37X is our first stand-on trencher, providing landscape operators a reliable, durable machine to confidently meet and exceed their jobsite needs,” Ditch Witch product manager Chris Thompson says.

The trencher is powered by a 27.6kW Tier 4 Yanmar diesel engine and Ditch Witch says the machine is built for heavy duty use. The stand-on design allows operators to traverse rougher terrain in situations where bringing in a full-size skid steer or other machine would be impractical.

The ST37X comes equipped with a 22-tonne rated chain and can trench up to a depth of 91cm and up to 41cm wide.

The machine is equipped with a 188 square centimetre spring-supported operator designed for long hours of use.  The trencher also has standard, dual-lever ground drive controls that give operators independent control on each track for improved mobility.

The tracks themselves provide the trencher with additional stability with 109cm of rubber on the ground on each side. The track-tensioning system features a grease cylinder for easy adjustments, track removal and simplified maintenance.

The ST37X also features an LCD display mounted in the machine’s dash to provide operators with critical machine information in real-time. Hydraulic flow is controlled via a foot pedal, leaving the operator’s hands free to control depth and ground speed.
