The VP30 is designed for installing fibre or small irrigation pipes. It has a maximum dig depth of 304.8mm and can carve a trench for cables and pipes up to 25.4mm in diameter. The machine also produces just 0.28 bar of ground pressure, meaning minimal lawn disruption and restoration work.

The VP30 is powered by a 23kW Briggs and Stratton featuring variable flow control. This allows operators to precisely control the flow to the shaker box or adjust the ground speed based on ground conditions.

“The new VP30 vibratory plow is our cost-effective solution for compact, residential installation projects, Ditch Witch compact equipment product manager Chris Thompson says.

“The machine keeps surface disruption to a minimum while featuring a low-maintenance design to keep operators profitable and productive,” he adds.

The VP30 uses the same pivot design as Ditch Witch’s CX-series walk-behind trenchers and the company says the machine is maintenance-free and utilizes greaseless, sealed bearings to extend track assembly life.

The walk-behind cable trencher has hydrostatic steering, similar to that found on a skid-steer, and touch controls to reduce operator fatigue.

The VP30 is equipped with two adjustable blades, the pull blade and feed blade, which can be adjusted between depths of 152.4mm and the maximum 304.8mm to meet installation depth requirements in various jurisdictions.

The VP30 also has an optional reel carrier that can be mounted on the machine to streamline cable or fibre installation even further.
