  • 381kW Tier 4 diesel
  • 335kN digging force at the bucket
  • Electronically controlled hydraulics

The giant Case CX750D weighs in at over 70 tonnes and has been officially revealed at the Steinexpo trade fair in Homberg, Germany. It’s not known if the CX750D will be available in Australia at this stage.

Case says the new excavator replaces the company’s CX700B and CX800B models at the heavy end of the range.

The CX750D is driven by a 381kW Tier 4 Final Isuzu diesel and is capable of delivering 335kN of digging force at the bucket (when using the Power Boost function).

Case says it achieved Tier 4 Final compliance through a combination of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) technology, meaning a costly diesel particulate filter isn’t needed.

The CX750’s electronically controlled hydraulic pump and larger control valves help to boost the machine’s breakout force. The hydraulic control system also monitors and adjusts hydraulic power to the task at hand, saving on fuel.

The excavator has three operating modes – automatic, heavy and speed priority – that optimise engine and hydraulic parameters based on task.

Case says it has made the boom and arm, as well as the undercarriage, far more robust for increased durability and performance. The arm and bucket cylinders have also been enlarged to improve performance.

The operator’s cab has also been expanded over previous models, with a generous amount of leg room and a fully adjustable workstation with high-backed seat for optimal comfort and lumbar support.

Standard rear- and side-view cameras feed a 7-inch monitor that also gives the operator real-time access to critical machine information.

Maintenance and machine access have also been improved, with wider catwalks and higher guardrails for safety. All filters are grouped together in the pump compartment and a hydrostatic reversible fan makes cleaning easier.
