The B3e jaw crusher was revealed at the recent Matexpo in Belgium. The 30-tonne, track-mounted jaw crusher is suited to construction sites and material recycling applications.

Being a diesel-electric hybrid, the Keestrack B3e is aimed at reducing fuel use and emissions without losing any of the crushing power.

The heavy-duty vibrating primary screen, as well as the undercarriage, is diesel-hydraulically driven by a 160kW Tier 4 Final Volvo engine.

The main discharge conveyor, primary screen conveyor and the adjustable overband magnets are powered by the B3e’s 42.5kVA on-board generator. On top of powering these components, the generator has the effect of reducing the diesel operating speed to around 1500RPM which reduces fuel use even further.

Keestrack says the B3e maintains the crushing standards of the original B3. The B3e can deliver a crushing capacity of around 300 tonnes per hour, with the 1000mm x 600mm jaws able to adjust their gap widths between 45-170mm.

The diesel-electric hybrid setup also reduces cooling requirements for the B3e as there are fewer hydraulic motors and less corresponding pipework. The reduced piping also means the B3e carries 100 litres less hydraulic fluid, lowering operating costs and extending fluid change intervals.
