The four new rollers – the CB2.5, CB2.7, CB2.9, and CC2.6 – use their operating weight in metric tonnes as nomenclature. The company says it had the equipment rental sector in mind when designing the new range, resulting in machines that are easy to operate and quick to transport and service.

The new rollers are particularly suited applications such as roads, bike paths, courtyards, patchwork, car parks, driveways and shoulder work.

The rollers use toggle-type switches to activate and control machine functions. An analogue display provides fuel level, engine temperature and machine hours for fast reference.

Cat says that hoisting the rollers on to transport vehicles is simple thanks to the machine’s single point lift option and durable hitch design. The rollers also have a foldable ROPS option that makes the roller’s transport height even shorter and also enables the machine to move under and around low structures when performing compaction duties.

Under the hood, the rollers are equipped with a 22.3kW Cat C1.5 engine configured to US Tier 4 Interim/EU Stage IIIA emissions requirements.

Servicing the machines has been simplified by equipping the rollers with fuses and relays that enable service personnel to troubleshoot issues without needing to use specialist equipment. In addition, the rollers have visual indicators for airflow, fuel/water separator, cooling, hydraulics and water spray systems to help operators keep on top of maintenance.

Like most modern Cat machinery, the new rollers are connected to the company’s Product Link software, allowing owners to closely monitor the machines’ location and service status. Cat says this allows the rollers to slot into a rental fleet easily.
