McCloskey Washing Systems (MWS) is the washing and clarifying equipment division of McCloskey International, whose products are sold in Australia through east coast and PNG distributor Mobile Screening and Crushing (MSC) Group.

MWS hosted a live working demonstration of new products including the SandStorm 516 and AggStorm 80 and 150 washer units, which were working in tandem processing quarry scalpings.

The event was held in the yard of Crown Aggregates Ltd in Nuneaton, on the outskirts of Birmingham and featured equipment supplied by MWS UK dealer Max Innovate.

The SandStorm 516 modular wash plant can produce grades of sand in the 0-2 and 0-5mm range while simultaneously producing 40mm-plus rinsed stone. The sand plant also has the capability to blend all or some of the fine sand into course sand to maximise the required grading.

The AggStorm 80 and 150 range takes it a step further with rinsing, screening, scrubbing and sand washing capabilities all in a single transportable chassis. Primarily designed for processing construction and demolition waste, the AggStorm range can produce up to three grades (10mm, 20mm and 40mm) aggregate.

The AggStorm washers are designed to operate as stand-alone units or in tandem with the SandStorm washer range. The two units at the MWS event were working together to produce three aggregates and two sand products from source material with high clay content.

"The SandStorm and AggStorm modular range is revolutionizing the wash plant market by introducing innovative solutions and continuing to serve our customers’ needs and demands around the world," Max Innovate managing director Fintan McKeever says.

"The team at MWS invest a significant amount of time on product development and have teamed up with key suppliers to bring new technologies to the washing industry."

MWS says the two-day event was a success and they are happy with the turnout.

"It is great to see so many people taking time out of their busy schedules to see what MWS can offer," MWS director Sean Loughran says.

"We have invested heavily in our new washing equipment over the past year and it is exciting to show this equipment working efficiently in its true working environment.

"We are thrilled that the open day was such a success and we extend our sincere thanks to all at Crown Aggregates and to everyone who joined us. Open days give customers real insight into the McCloskey brand, its heritage and the expertise behind our machines," Loughran adds.

The MSW line of aggregate processors and washers are available through Australian dealer Mobile Screening and Crushing.
