Geospatial and surveying tech company Position Partners is now the exclusive distributor of the Tiny Surveyor robotic pre-marker tool across Australia and New Zealand.

Tiny -Surveyor
  • Runs for eight hours on a single charge

  • Compatible with any GNSS system

  • 7km/h travel speed

The agreement was made between Position Partners and Danish company TinyMobileRobots (TMR), which builds small autonomous outdoor robots that perform line marking and stakeout for the land surveying sector.

The Tiny Surveyor is a robotic pre-marker tool designed to save time and labour by automatically marking out road lines. The robot is accurate and repeatable to within 2-3cm and is able to accommodate a wide variety of spray can sizes (up to 750ml).

"The Tiny Surveyor is a unique piece of equipment," Position Partners CEO Martin Nix says. "This exciting, new fully autonomous robotic pre-marker tool both increases safety and makes marking significantly faster than marking out on foot."

The Tiny Surveyor is compatible with any GNSS co-ordinate system (GPS, GLONASS, etc) as well as total surveying stations such as those from Topcon, Sokkia, Trimble and Leica for precise height measurements. The Tiny Surveyor is also able to work for eight hours on a single charge.

The unit is able to work autonomously, once the design file has been uploaded via USB and an indicator light blinks blue when the job has been completed.

A full-function, long range remote control panel enables the user to stay in control at all times and its high weatherproof rating ensures the Tiny Surveyor can work in tough environments. The unit weighs in at 18kg without its battery and has a top speed of 7km/h.
