The HX-Series is aimed at a wide range of underground construction applications, such as potholing, slot trenching and microtrenching.

There are three new models in the range – the HX30, HX50 and HX75 – and Ditch Witch says all three feature heavy-duty suction and water pressure as well as an optimised design for maximum air flow. The new range also contains a cyclonic, three-stage filtration system as standard.

Ditch Witch says the compact new vacuum excavators will boost productivity on just about any site, and are easy to transport between jobs.

“Contractors are always on the lookout for opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs on the job,” Ditch Witch vacuum excavator product manager Chapman Hancock says.

“Our new HX line not only enhances productivity but improves versatility to easily meet the diverse needs of different municipalities and contractors globally.

“The low-profile design allows for easy navigation on any jobsite without compromising ground clearance and offers a compact footprint suitable for large-scale applications without compromising power or production.”

The vacuum excavators are powered by Kubota Tier 4 Final engines with power outputs of 18.5kW, 36.5kW and 55kW for the HX30, HX50 and HX75 respectively. Ditch Witch has also added larger fuel tanks to all three models to extend job duration.

There a number of different debris tank sizes available for the HX-Series depending on the size of the excavation job. The vacuum excavators can also be configured with an optional power boom or jib boom which can help give greater control of the vacuum hose and reduce operator fatigue.
