Bullitt Group designs, develops and produces innovative products for specific target industries with industry-specific features. The company’s rugged and tough devices are fit-for-purpose anywhere from construction sites to farms.

Bullitt Group holds global mobile licenses from Caterpillar Inc. and Land Rover, and has a growing portfolio of connected device products covering the rugged, lifestyle and outdoor categories.

The agreement will see Blackberry cybersecurity technology embedded within Cat and Land Rover branded rugged products to address the needs of modern security-conscious customers. The devices will be certified as ‘BlackBerry Secure’.

BlackBerry Secure is a comprehensive security software platform to connect people, devices, processes and systems. The company says products built with components from the BlackBerry Secure software platform will have best-in-class security that helps safeguard end-user privacy and protects enterprises from attackers looking to exploit device vulnerabilities.

“This new deal will allow us to expand our BlackBerry Secure footprint into the more than 100 markets that Bullitt Group currently distributes its products, especially in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” BlackBerry senior vice president Alex Thurber says.

“Bullitt Group’s customers, from farmers and construction workers to outdoor enthusiasts, will now be able to have rugged products that aren’t just durable on the outside, but also strong on security on the inside.”

Representatives of the Bullitt Group say they are confident the partnership with BlackBerry will help them stay on top of an ever changing security landscape.

“With the rising threat of hacks and security breaches in mobile and connected IoT devices, it was important for us to find a partner that can help us keep pace with, and protect against, the fast-changing security challenges that concern our customers,” Bullitt Group chief product officer James Shannon says.

“By partnering with BlackBerry, we’re able to provide a level of security that will give our customers peace of mind when communicating and using their devices for business, or in their everyday lives.”
