“They haven’t compromised on any of the Caterpillar features. They make them in the Caterpillar factory in Shanghai with a view to targeting the developing nations such as South America, South East Asia, the Middle East and South Africa.
These particular wheel loaders from Flamsteed Equipment also have a number of features that operators actually prefer in terms of design.
“The real attraction is that they have very simple and basic features. The whole world is going towards emission control and Tier-4 engines, whereas these machines have Tier-3 engines.

“Our wheel loaders only have three electronic control modules, so any mechanic in the country can work on them,” Mark reveals.
“Another thing that operators like about these machines is that they have a steering wheel rather than a joystick.

“When we bring them in they are quite standard so we do quite a lot of work on them.
“We import these machines with tubeless tyres. Then we install ride control, a quick hitch and a ripper.
“We manufacture the quick hitch and the ripper ourselves and the ride control we do through our hydraulics specialist – so all of this work is done in house.
“Not everyone will want a ripper and not everyone will want a quick hitch, so we can tailor the configurations to whatever the customer requires.
“The bottom line is, for $310,000 + GST it’s a fantastic deal for a wheel loader with these features.”
