The National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo showcased the latest in the Australian construction industry
The National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo 2019 saw 61,200 machinery lovers pour through the gates over three days in Western Sydney.
With so much gear to check out, the crowds took their time as they wandered around
the event.
RDO Equipment has officially taken over as the John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment dealer in all Australian states (except Western Australia) and the RDO team had demonstrator models of the John Deere E360 LC and E210 LC excavators on display, which attached plenty of interest at the show.
By early next year, Australian customers will be able to purchase the full line of John Deere products, including graders, wheel loaders, dozers, backhoes, excavators, articulated dump trucks, skid steer loaders and mini excavators.
Sydney contractor Damien Cooke had the fastest time in the Porter Group CE ASV skid steer operator challenge, which was hotly contested. Top job Damien!
The Semco excavator operator challenge also drew in big crowds, as did the various other live machinery demonstrations across all three days.
Auger Torque and Doherty Couplers and Attachments won the two major prizes (best large stand & best stand overall) and it was evident that many exhibitors had put a lot of effort into their displays.
Eleven prizes worth over $100,000 were also given away at the show this year.
"Thanks to all of our sponsors and exhibitors, without whose support there would be no show," Marti Zivkovich, event manager for DDT, says.
"This is the first year we did it outside of school holidays so that, and the rain on the
first day, did affect the numbers. However, we got really good feedback and look forward
to 2020’s show."
The first day saw heavy rain hit before midday, but the clouds parted making life easier for the crowds and exhibitors alike for the rest of the show.
