A regulation that came into effect last year requires EPA licensed businesses in New South Wales to purchase Tier-4 equipment.

Select Kobelco Tier-4 models are also available with the Trimble-ready Earthworks System.

“Kobelco has a long history of pioneering fuel-efficient technology that balances environmental initiatives in its excavator line,” Kobelco Australia General Manager of Sales and Marketing Doug McQuinn explains.

“This new range of Tier-4 Final compliant excavators is the next step in our pioneering evolution.”

The new type of Tier-4 compliant engine is fitted with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and an SCR device to control emissions without using a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

It has a large-capacity DEF/Urea tank, extending intervals between fill-ups and resulting in a NOx reduction rate of about 88 per cent, compared to previous models.

“We anticipate increased demand in the Australian market for Tier-4 Final excavators. Kobelco’s independent and experienced dealer network means that when buying excavators, customers can receive and depend on quality advice and service.”

Kobelco excavators are renowned for their durability and strength and come with industry leading warranty. Mini excavators up to 5.5 tonnes have a four year [or 4,000 hour] warranty and excavators that are seven tonne and over have two year [or 3,000 hour] warranty.  All Kobelco heavy excavators also come with four year [or 6,000 hour] EPT warranty.
