John Deere launches new excavator range

John Deere has launched its Series-II hydraulic excavator range, which is now available in Australia for the first time.

In what is the first excavator offering in the local market from John Deere, the anticipated lineup includes eight models ready to perform in Australian conditions.

Ideally suited to operators working across quarry and aggregate, site development, road building, forestry, underground work and a multitude of other applications, at the heart of the Series-II Excavator is a completely redesigned cab and powerful hydraulics systems.

John Deere Construction and Forestry Division Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Africa Jeff Kraft says the range has been built with Australian customers in mind.

“We are extremely excited to introduce these machines which bring each of these trusted traits to the Australian excavator market,” he says.

“They are built in dedicated Deere factories and to our exacting  engineering standards and will help drive production and profitability for local operators through fast cycle times, more muscle, more daily uptime and tough components.

“These excavators prioritise quality, productivity and operator comfort while incorporating strategic features such as large capacity buckets, premium hydraulic performance, highly durable and thick boom, arm and buckets to withstand tougher digging conditions, and Auto Pressure Boost to anticipate and deliver power when it’s needed.”

Exterior-Hardware

John Deere excavators are built tough to deliver more uptime by harnessing the power of heavy-duty booms and arms, a robust electrical system and optimised hydraulic routing. A sealed and lubricated undercarriage and heavy-duty welded X-frame provide a solid, stable platform, while the sloped track frame resists material build-up to decrease cleaning time.

Full-length track guides and double-grouser track shoes are optional for rocky terrain and a heavy-duty cooling system keeps the engine and hydraulic system running efficiently, even in tough environments.

The optional extra side bumper on two sides of the upper frame on heavy-duty models protects the machine from damage on crowded jobsites. Solid-state electronics and uncomplicated system architecture mean fewer wires, mechanical relays, and electrical connectors are needed.

Four power modes and three work modes deliver the right power and response for maximum productivity and strong digging force.

Auto pressure-boost provides extra hydraulic power when needed and is complemented by additional auxiliary hydraulic capability and expanded bucket options. A wide selection of custom-profile buckets with different taper angles, capacities, and widths further allows operators to configure the machine to suit the task at hand.

On E200 and E300 Series-II models, an Auxiliary Merge option provides increased hydraulic flow for operating larger hammers.

The John Deere PowerTech Plus engine with variable-geometry turbocharger (VGT) delivers a high level of fuel efficiency. Full integration with Deere’s Intelligent Hydraulic (JD-IHC) system combines arm force and swing torque to help keep things moving, while the 90 to 180-degree function (available on the E300’s) increases the boom-up speed for faster truck loading.

Interior

The spacious operator station has a seven-inch touch-screen monitor providing quick access to machine features and functions. Ergonomically placed controls, an automatic temperature control (ATC) system and ample storage is also provided.

“Customers can expect the same reliability and durability they have come to expect from John Deere and this is reinforced by our network of trusted dealers, in-country parts and product specialists,” John Deere Customer and Product Support Manager Andy Tomkins says.

“These machines also have industry-leading technology, including remote diagnostic capabilities. This includes JDLink telematics which provides real time machine utilisation data and alerts to ensure a fast response by John Deere dealers, who can come onsite already equipped with the parts and tools they need, at a time convenient to you.”

John Deere excavators are backed by a National Dealer Service and Parts Network, the strength of which is reinforced by the Australia and New Zealand Distribution Centre (ANZDC) which supports dealers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Available Models include – E130, E140LC, E210, E210LC, E230LC, E240, E240LC, E260LC, E330LC, E360, E380LC and E400LC.
