Deere announces Slope Control for dozers

John Deere has announced a Slope Control feature will be an integrated factory option on its K-Series dozers, including the 450K, 550K and 650K models.

The system is designed to allow dozer operators to view cross-slope and main fall-slope percentages in real time through the cabin’s monitor.

This will allow operators to grade to their desired slope by either manually adjusting the blade or using the system’s automated control.

Deere says this will make complex grading jobs simpler and adds that sensors are protected and component damage prevented because the system is fully integrated.

“The demand for grading technology in the construction industry is rapidly increasing, and entry-level solutions are key for that adoption,” John Deere’s solutions marketing manager Matt Goedert says.

“By offering Slope Control on the K-Series machines, customers can precisely maintain and grade desired slopes easier than ever using proven technology.”

Target and joystick modes can be used to run Slope Control and both can automatically control the blade’s tilt, raise and lower commands to give the operator precise control.

Flip Slope, which allows users to adjust the target value or cross-slope to the opposite value, is another feature of Slope Control, as are integrated increment and decrement buttons.

“Slope Control offers a solution for those who are new to technology and those looking to establish a foundation for grade management in their machine,” John Deere’s product marketing manager Sean Mairet says.

“With this technology, we can help customers boost productivity and profitability.”
