Kubota R540 wheel loader debuts

An all-new Kubota compact wheel loader has touched down in Australia.

The 51hp Wheel Loader is available now across Australia

The Kubota R540 has been designed with a range of new features intended to increase operator comfort and overall usability of the vehicle.

Included in the redesign is a new-look cabin, multi-function joystick plus an increase in rated operation capacity, which combines the increased comfort and smoother operation with functional stability.

Kubota Australia senior product manager Lars Pasedag says the new R540 will uphold the success and esteem of its preceding model, the R065, in both its cab and canopy models.

“We’re excited to improve our compact wheel loader range,” he says.

“The R540 has the same base platform as the R065, but added space, an improved dash design and updated multi-function joystick in the R540 results in better visibility and more intuitive operation across both the cab and canopy models.”

“By moving the control switches to the right-hand console, the new dash is a lot simpler and reduced in size. Not only is there more space for the operator, but the less cluttered dash results in a better view to the front wheels,” Pasedag says.

The pilot-controilled multi-function joystick is one of a series of improvements made by Kubota in the R540.

An auxiliary valve button has been added to remove the need for separate levers which were previously found on the R065. In doing so, the joystick can be operated by one hand  in a move Kubota says will improve functionality.

“The new pilot control operated joystick and its smoother operation is in response to customer feedback, allowing users to open the four-in-one bucket while lifting or crowding. It’s a seamless step-up for operators,” Pasedag says.

Reinforcements have been made to the main frame of the vehicle where the loader arm mounts, allowing for the new loader arm to taper in towards the cab to further improve the operator’s visibility when inside the cab.

The wheelbase has also been extended to improve the operating capacity by two per cent.

The R540 is powered by a 51 horsepower V2607 engine with 2615 cubic centimetre which can meet Tier 4 Final emission standards with the addition of Common Rail technology and diesel particulate filter.

“We are really excited to bring the new R540 to market and deliver an improved compact loader,” says Pasedag.

The Kubota R540 is available throughout Australia now at any Kubota dealership.
