Cat announces new pulveriser models

The six new primary and secondary pulverisers perform better and with faster cycle times thanks to a new design, Cat says

The new Cat P224 secondary pulveriser

Cat’s new generation of pulverisers includes three new rotatable primary models – P318, P324 and P332 and three new fixed secondary models – P218, P224 and P232.

The primary range feature 360-degree rotation while the fixed range are designed for 18 to 50-tonne machines. The pulverisers mean operators can produce more tons-per-litre of fuel, delivering cycle times up to 52 per cent faster.

A new design, which Cat says uses the same SpeedBooster technology found in their multi-processor range, makes pulverising easier. When the jaw comes into contact with materials, the SpeedBooster hydraulic valve will automatically switch to power mode and inject maximum power into the task.

The new primary pulverisers offer up to a 52 per cent faster cycle times and 21 per cent higher force than previous models, meaning the attachments deliver a more efficient demolition of materials.

Thanks to the bidirectional 360-degree rotation on the P300 models, material can be grabbed from any angle by positioning the jaw in any direction, while rebar knives quickly shear through pipes, rebar and other embedded material onsite.

Up to 20 per cent more force for concrete demolition tasks has been added in Cat’s secondary pulveriser range, which results in up to 15 per cent greater performance in secondary material procession application. The secondary models also deliver up to 44 per cent faster cycle times. Wide jaw openings in the secondary models also allow operators to grab more material.

Both ranges of the new pulveriser features bolt-on wear components which are easily replaceable in the field with no hard-face welding necessary. All hydraulic components are also protected inside a housing with bolt-on removable panel which allows for complete access when servicing.

Cat’s asset tracking is also integrated into all new pulverisers for quick attachment locating. Security features, such as easily established site boundaries, which sends an alert if the attachment is moved beyond the perimeter, are also included.

The pulverisers are capable on working across a range of excavators and are designed to increase efficiency when used in conjunction with Cat hydraulic excavators.
