Increased safety features and the installation of a new oil cooler are among the many improvements made and features added to Yanmar’s ViO17-1 true zero tail swing excavator.

The ViO17-1 has also been made to be more fuel efficient and easier to service; meaning less downtime for operators who can now spend more time in operation of the machine.

The model, which is the successor to Yanmar’s successful ViO17 excavator, is available now after its launch in early September this year.

The new oil cooler, which includes additional fins, now comes as standard on the ViO17-1 to improve heat radiation and contribute to the reduced downtime of the machine.

A new cylinder hose design on the back of the boom has also been made meaning replacing and maintenance of the hose in the event of damage or required repairs is also easier.

New LED lights have been installed for the first time, replacing the previous halogen globes, to provide operators with increased visibility at a wider area.

To improve safety measures Yanmar has also added an accumulator that temporarily accumulates hydraulic pressure and can safely drain excess hydraulic pressure of the machine.

The Yanmar ViO17-1 true zero tail swing excavator has a standard operating weight of 1.79 tonnes when using rubber tracks and the standard four-pillar roll-over protective canopy.

The machine includes a 20L fuel tank capacity and produces an output of 13.5 horsepower (10.1kW).
