The Safety in Action Perth conference will bring together workplace safety experts from across the mining, manufacturing, engineering, transport and government sectors for a series of seminars and demonstrations at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre on 1-2 June 2016.
This year’s event will have a particular focus on the role each individual plays in keeping themselves and their colleagues safe at work and is presented by major sponsor Myosh safety software.
“Creating a safety culture is an important part of the conversation at Safety in Actionwith an internal industry poll highlighting 87 percent of Australian workers believe their workplace could benefit from workplace safety improvements,” event general manager Keith Barks says. “We need to stress that everyone shares the responsibility for health in the workplace. We should be thinking and talking about safety as a regular and ongoing part of the work day”.
Seminars topics include workplace psychological safety, budgeting for safety requirements, legal issues in safety and minimising the risk of an ageing workforce. Seminars will be delivered by industry and safety leaders including WA chief psychiatrist Dr Nathan Gibson, Curtin University law school chair Rhianna Chisolm and Myosh business development manager Adrian Manessis.
The event is a forerunner to the national Safety in Action exhibition to be held in Sydney from 6-8 September.
