Sandvik launches QI353 crusher and forms mining tech division

Sandvik QI353 impact crusher

Sandvik says its new QI353 crusher is the most versatile mid-sized mobile impact crusher available on the market, able to process up to 400 tonnes of rock per hour.

To be distributed through Porter Equipment at a time to be determined, the crusher also offers greater capacity and a special feed arrangement to help reduce blockages.

Requiring 40 per cent less hydraulic oil per service and benefiting from extended oil replacement intervals, the crusher consumes up to 64 per cent less oil over 10,000 hours of machine usage – while its new fuel-efficient powerpack provides performance and cost efficiency.

For operator safety, it is equipped with spacious platforms, which provide safe access for service and maintenance.

A key highlight is the new automation system, which includes simplified operation controls and total integration with Sandvik’s My Fleet telematics solution for remote monitoring of mobile crushing and screening equipment.

The new impact crusher is the first in the 3-Series third generation crusher range from Sandvik and is targeted at the quarry, recycling and contractor segments.

Sandvik has also recently acquired mine planning software company Deswik and launched a new Digital Mining Technologies division within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area.

Deswik’s integrated software platforms support digitalisation of mine planning processes.

The addition of Deswik will increase Sandvik’s upstream mining coverage and enable opportunities for end-to-end optimisation solutions, including, for example, incorporating electrification at the mine planning stage.

Its core software suite includes computer-aided 3D mine design, scheduling, operations planning, mining data management and geological mapping. Deswik also offers a range of consultancy services, including mine planning, scoping, software implementation and training support.
