Sany releases SY80U and SY155U compact excavators

Sany has bolstered its excavator range with two new compact units arriving Down Under

Two new compact excavators have joined Sany’s Australian product lineup, fresh from a period of success in the European and American markets.

The Chinese manufacturer is bringing the SY80U and SY155U compact excavators to the local market and Sany Australia and New Zealand regional sales director Jason Lyall says they’re already proving popular.

“Both models are greatly anticipated in the Australian market, with a number of machines having already been purchased prior to the official launch in Australia,” he says.

“We are thrilled with the early response and are excited that Sany is catering to a unique gap in the Australian earthmoving market.”

The 8.8-tonne SY80U is a short-tail excavator powered by a 54kW (73 horsepower) Yanmar T4F engine and equipped with a bi-directional auxiliary hydraulic system and various configuration options, which Sany says all contribute to strong reliability and an increased service life.

With a maximum digging depth of 4,535mm and a reinforced boom, arm, swing platform and undercarriage, the SY80U also enables quick access to all service points with its maintenance-friendly design.

The 16-tonne Sany SY155U is powered by a 78.5kW (107hp) Isuzu engine and has a 5,468mm digging depth, as well as a 1,500mm tail swing radius and a bolt-on rubber pad option.

Sany says the SY155U has a range of attachments available that allows operators to dramatically reduce the time it takes to change work tools, providing convenience and flexibility in the field.

Lyall in particular is confident of its success, saying demand for Sany excavators has been growing steadily.

“We know this machine will be very popular based on the demand it receives in the United States and Europe,” he says.

“Our dealer network has conveyed to us the high level of interest in this model and we are confident customers will be even more impressed when they can now see this machine in person.”
