Skid-steer operator is Australia’s Next Top Model

A skid-steer operator from the outer-Melbourne suburb of Whittlesea has taken out the title of Australia’s Next Top Model.

Before her life changed forever with last night’s Fox8 TV show finale, 20-year-old Brittany Beattie was a caravan-living tomboy driving trucks and earthmovers for a living.

Now the girl who dropped out of school at 16 has a year-long IMG Models contract, an eight-page fashion magazine spread and a trip to New York Fashion Week.

“I can’t believe this time last year I was driving a truck every day around farms in my home town, and now I’ve met some of the most amazing people from fashion and modelling,” Beattie told Fairfax Media. “I am in shock and can’t wait to see what happens next.”

In case you’re interested, this is her ANTM model profile:

State: VIC

Favourite food? Lamb roast

Most annoying habit? Burping

What is your style? Boho. [Yeah, we had to Google this — it’s a style inspired by bohemian creativity and a gypsy spirit.]

Why do you think you could be Australia’s Next Top Model? Because I’m the only model that can drive a truck.

You know what? She’s right … that should be mandatory in all beauty/fashion competitions.
