Here’s an interesting one that raises all sorts of questions for you operators … a video of two guys trying to get a fat-track Cat D6 dozer and a Kobelco 170 excavator up a steep and slippery slope after rain.
Should the dozer have had that much trouble? Maybe it’s just a case of worn grip plates and bad maintenance. Should he have backed up and used the blade to stop the downhill slide?
Should the excavator operator have pulled himself up the slope, or turned around and pushed for better traction? And should he have turned his sprockets uphill?
And what about using the excavator bucket to brake and push behind the dozer? Balls of steel or just another day in the office?
