Takeuchi’s compact TCR50-2 crawler dumper has been introduced to the North American market, providing efficient transport across rough terrain
Previously available in other parts of the world, Takeuchi has made its TCR50-2 crawler dumper available in North America for the first time.
Takeuchi US product manager Lee Padgett says the market for crawler dumpers is growing in a variety of different applications, with the machine designed to move heavy materials across challenging terrain.
“Urbanisation in North America has led to a greater need for these agile machines that can carry heavy loads over unstable or rough terrain, often in confined spaces,” he says. “The TCR50-2 can do all that and more.”
The TCR50-2 weighs 6,550kg (14,440 lbs) with an 88kW (118hp) engine and a 65-degree dumping angle.
With a 3,700kg (8,157 lb) maximum loading weight, the machine also can rotate its dump bed 180 degrees, which Takeuchi says reduces deterioration of rubber tracks and reduces the need to constantly reposition the machine.
Designed to keep operators comfortable, productive and informed, the cab features a multi-information colour display, hydraulic joystick controls, an adjustable suspension seat, an air conditioner, a radio with USB functionality and a standard 180-degree rearview camera.
In addition to the rearview camera, other safety features include LED work lights, a tinted sun visor and a rear windshield wiper to provide better visibility.
A customisable travel alarm is also included, which can have its sound depending on if the unit is moving forward or in reverse.
Takeuchi’s Fleet Management (TFM) telematics is standard on the TCR50-2, which Takeuchi says reduces downtime and controls costs by providing operators with important information including machine health and condition, run time in hours, maintenance reminders and machine location.
