A new design used in the latest Terex Finlay impact crusher promises to give the 50-tonne I-140 unprecedented levels of production and high consistency of product size, the company says.
Suitable for mining, quarrying, demolition and recycling applications, the I-140 features a redesigned central chamber with components that increase in width as the material flows through the machine.
“The introduction of the Terex Finlay I-140 represents a significant step change in our family of impact crushers,” Terex Finlay product manager Alan Witherow says.
“Our field test results of extensive testing have recorded significant productivity increases, depending on the application, over the model that it replaces,” he adds.
“The enhanced material flow process of the plant represents a significant step change to our engineering ethos and in due course will be extended to encompass our range of impact crushers.”
The machine’s large rotor measures 1270mm x 1220mm and the crusher is powered by either a Cat C-15 540-horsepower (403kW) Tier 3 engine or a Scania DC13 500-horsepower (373kW) Tier 4 engine, depending on your priorities.
The I-140 also has an electronic control system that monitors and automatically adjusts the speed of the rotor.
This system can also perform a ‘pre-screen’ of material before it enters the heavy-duty vibrating feeder (VGF), maintaining a consistent high-quality flow. The pre-screen removes fine dirt particles and removes any oversized product, diverting this material to a by-pass conveyor.
The feeder aprons are fully hydraulic and feature a setting-assist for more efficient adjustment of the feeder aprons.
The I-140 also has a standard hopper size of 6 cubic metres, which Terex Finlay says places the machine at the forefront of the competitive crusher market. Optional extras include an under-crusher vibratory feeder with wear-resistant liners to aid the flow of material discharge.
