Excavators, skid steers and compact track loaders were amongst the machines showcased at Case Construction Victoria’s recent Dig Day.

The machine test drive event ran from December 5-6.

Case Victoria Dealer Principal Mark Lindner says the idea behind the Dig Day was to offer its customers the opportunity to test the machines first-hand and gauge for themselves just what the machines are capable of.

“It’s a concept that’s been around for a long time, but we decided this year, instead of going to field days, we’d offer our customers the opportunity to go to an actual dig and use the machines rather than just look at them,” he says.

“The best way to understand a machine is to sit in it. It’s as simple as that.”

Case Victoria chose to feature the new Alpha Series skid steers and a selection of its C Series excavators at the event which proved to be particularly popular among the attendees.

The Dig Day was supported by a number of key suppliers including Digga Australia , SITECH Construction Systems, ECH, and EI Engineering.

Digga Australia rep Shaun Pollard was pleased with the positive feedback he received at the event.

“It’s great to interact with customers [and] to get them onto the machine and get hands-on with the equipment,” he says.

“The static days are hard because you’re just reviewing every machine and every type of attachment, but here you get a feel for it and we get an opportunity to actually show our products and what they can do”.

According to Lindner, business for Case Victoria has been relatively quiet for the past 12 months.

However, he believes things will look up for the company moving forward and hopes to host more similar demo events in the future.
