1979 was a year of many milestones – Margaret Thatcher was elected the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sony introduced the “Walkman” and the Tutt Bryant Group signed a three year agreement to begin distribution of Yanmar Construction Equipment in Australia.
35 years on and thousands of mini excavators, wheel loaders and carriers later, Tutt Bryant and Yamnar’s relationship continues.
To this day, Tutt Bryant remains the exclusive and national distributor of Yanmar Construction Products which Tutt Bryant says is a testament to the strength of its relationship with Yanmar, quality of the Yanmar brand and the excellent customer service Tutt Bryant provides.
Yanmar has come a long way in the country since introducing its canopy YB1200 almost three decades ago. The models was a very masic mini excavator with a six month warranty which was the industry norm back then.
Today, Yanmar offers a range of 9 different excavator models to the Australian market ranging from one to 10 tonners fitted with many different options, some of which include: ROPS and FOPS canopy or cabin models, steel tracks or rubber tracks, auxiliary hydraulics, pattern select controls and on board engine monitoring.
A highlight of Yanmar’s run in the country was the introduction of the Yanmar Zero Tail Swing Range – the Vio series back in 1994. Zero tail swing excavators provided users with the ability to work against and dig parallel to walls or similar structures, revolutionising the use of mini excavators on construction sites all over Australia.
Although the zero tail swing technology has been adopted by many other excavator manufacturers over the years, Tutt Bryant says Yanmar still stands as one of the few companies that offers a complete range of models from 1.7 tonne to 8 tonne.
Congratulations to Tutt Bryant and Yanmar for this great milestone.
